Two Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
